Grey the new black

Another painted potato bin. Nothing special just a simple paint job.

I went to the thrift store the other day and found this industrial round container. I loved the handles and the way the metal band snapped on.  I put legs on it to make it into table.  The fabric was rather pricey it is by Tim Holtz, from Jo Ann Fabrics 15.99 a yard! It was worth it though.

I didn't do too much to this rack. Just a bit of paint. Someone bought it so it all turned out well.

I painted this table and really loved how it came out. I don't like everything I paint but this table I really liked.  After I delivered it to my booth I got a call from the shop asking me to paint the top over because it didn't match the décor of a lady who was interested in it.  I said no not possible if she likes beach décor then go to Hobby Lobby they must have something from China she would like....not really. I may have thought that but I didn't verbalize it out loud  I did sell the table an hour later for full price to another person with good taste!

I found this box at a store and brought it home to paint.  I thought it looked like a book so I painted it to look like a Jane Austen book cover.

There are always lots of these cute picnic baskets to buy at flea markets.  I wanted to paint this one different than the usual ones I paint.  So I thought why not a bee?  A Queen Bee!  Everyone knows a pesky bee can be a royal pain! lol

French Country Assessory Accents

This is a magazine tote that I found in the dumpster.  It was covered in magazine pictures that were falling off.  It was in desperate need of some love.  I stripped off the paper and painted the tote blue then hand painted the bird.  I like the new look it has much more appeal than before.

This is an old birdhouse that I rescued from the trash. It had a rubber roof which I replaced with a wooden one. I repainted it white and stained it to look old.

This is a very simple corner shelf that I bought. It was a light wood color before I decided to make it a two toned French Country piece.

This is an old window my husband brought home to me. I bought some printed burlap from Hobby Lobby for 5.99 a yard and made it into a memo board.  I took some regular push pins and glues some black crystals to the top of them to bling them up.

This is a sweet little stool that I bought and painted.  I love the French Country look!

Paris Stool

This is a cool little trunk that I mounted on a study little stool.  I decoupaged some graphics to the top and one the inside where there used to be a mirror. I don't have good luck with glass stuff so I opted to go with graphics instead of replacing the mirror.

Paris Hotel Wash Stand

Well this stand is pretty self explanitory.  I had an old wash stand collecting dust in my store room and thought it was time to give a chace to be loved.  I added an old door and there your have it a catch all for more than just dust. I always say you can never have enough old doors laying around waiting to be stenciled and attached to something old.

Eiffle Tower Dresser

I have finally done it! I looked all summer long to find a dresser that I could finish with the Eiffel Tower on it  but couldn't find any suitable dressers. After replacing the dresser in my Son's room I decided to fix up his old dresser that I was going to trash because it was so beat up. I really didn't have anything to loose if it didn't turn out and I wasn't sure mine would come out as beautiful as those I had seen on A Vie Renouvele

Guissied Up Furnishings

Their dressers were completely the inspiration that I used to pattern my dresser after. I cannot take credit for the design only the workmanship.  My dresser started out denim blue and needed repair and gluing.  It took one day just to fix it and prime it it was sooooooo bad.  After I got it all put back together I painted it with some home made chalk paint that I made using black latex paint and unsanded grout.  Below is my version of the Eiffel Tower Dresser.

I spray painted the dresser knobs with Black Gloss Spray paint because that process is faster and easier than hand painting and I am all for faster.  The design on the front was applied with several coats of Modge Podge.  I printed the paper myself using a vintage dictionary as the back round.  The Eiffel Tower I copied onto the paper after several steps to get it just the way I wanted it.  After I applied the paper and it was thoroughly dry I brushed the edges of the paper all around the edges of the drawer fronts with black paint to help blend in the lines of the paper.  No matter how hard you try the paper doesn't always match at the seams so a little paint goes a long way to camouflage the edges.  It feels good to have this project done it was a long time in coming and wasn't the easiest thing I have ever done.  I would like to try it again and maybe even it a different color.  Hard to believe that I was going to throw this dresser out, I usually never give up on wood pieces and I sure am glad that I gave this one a second chance!
