Painted Bliss

I love old crates and tables. Put the 2 together and it doesn't get any better!  This one I added a door panel for a top and then hand painted it.  I wish I had room to keep all the box tables I make but then I wouldn't have any money to buy more boxes to paint! lol.......

This is a little round table I bought for 2.00  I painted it white and grey and painted a clock design on it.  Recently the shop I am in closed and I am deciding whether or not to continue to paint, I can't imagine a world where I can't make things.

This picture contains several things I painted to sell and that are already sold in the shabby chic theme.  The stool swivels, it had fabric on the top of it at one time.  I am always a happy girl when I strip the fabric off from a piece and there is a paintable surface underneath.  The wooden tote had wax all over it. I think someone filled it with candles and let them burn down in it. I had to scrap and sand it like mad but I got it off and painted it up.  The watering can is missing its spout and it was dented so I bent it back into shape and paint it.  It would be great with flowers in it.
Second chances are the best, I am always grateful for the ones I get!

Telephone Table Make Over

I painted this phone table solid black several months ago. It didn't sell so I brought it home to give it a make over. I had noticed the fabric on the seat was going in the wrong direction.....what? I get going so fast working 2 jobs that sometimes I mess up...it happens. I painted the whole thing white and glazed it in dark brown.

It didn't have a design on the table part before so I thought I would add one and I am so glad I did, it adds so much and matches the fabric on the seat.

The seat opens to for storage which make this piece useful and pretty to look at! Is that bragging? Sorry, its just I am always delighted when something gets a make over and it comes out.

Dry Sink

Went to a garage sale and bought this neat dry sink for 10 bucks, wow haven't spend over 2.00 in a long time and I have to say it felt good! Sorry as I said in my last post I was so excited to get back to painting that I forgot "before" pictures.  It just had a golden oak stained finish so nothing too radical about this make-over.  I had to make some new doors for this piece but other than that it was in good shape.  I painted it with bonding primer first and then a coat of off white.  I sanded the edges and gave it a coat of poly finish.  I can imagine this as a wonderful display piece filled with prim or shabby chic goods.

Painted Stuff

I love old drawers that came from old sewing machine cabinets.  I bought a ton of them several years ago and these are the last of them.  They were cut apart from the original cabinet and I just gave them a top and some paint.
This is a nice old table I bought for 2 bucks and painted blue. I decided to leave the folding chairs as they were because they had some great lettering on them.  I painted the basket antique white and filled it with dried hydrangeas.
This is another one of my garden chairs. I bought four of them this is number three, one left to go.  I just decorate them with whatever I grab out of my stash boxes.  I love the blue twig heart planter I attached to the top.

Make Do or Do Without

I was repairing an old farm chair the other day. It had a big crack in the middle of the seat.  As I was working on it I accidentally broke off one of the legs. I could see that this piece was never going to be strong enough to sit in and use as a regular chair even if I glued it up.  So I set it aside and started to work on my next project.  Then it hit me.............I had this old metal milk crate that no one seemed to want and it was just sitting there waiting for some love and I had this rickety broken chair needing legs.It was so obvious at that point my hands were shaking with delight.   I strapped the chair onto the milk crate and there you have it! I am totally in love with the out come, the unconventional is aways my favorite!

I really don't intend for someone to sit in this chair but it would be wonderful with flowers or an accent in the crate area.

Painted and Primitive

These are two old slates that I bought and painted.  I had about 30 of these roofing slates and finally got down to my last two that you see here.
This is a piece I bought and painted up like the sign I did last week. I love patriocti prim.

Just a round table that I painted .

Just a little stithery I did and popped it into a "Warren Kinble" frame.

I did a stool like this one last winter and it was a big hit so I decided to do another one.  This stool was originally stained a dark brown and not very appealing.  I painted it off white and stained to look aged.

Old School

I went to a sale last year and picked up 2 wonderful old school desks for 5.00, that is 5.00 for the both of them. I usually pass up desks like this but I really couldn't resist the 2 for 5 deal. I saw some painted on Pinterest a while back and decided it was time to dig one of the desks out of my stash and give it a go.  I primed it first with bonding primer and then painted the desk with a maroon paint. The color was so terrible that I had to decided to go back to my old faithful friend barn red.  Next I painted the flag and stars and then stained over the whole thing and gave it a poly finish coat.

Garden Chair and Birdhouse

This is a birdhouse I made from a post I bought at the flea market.  The spire top I attached to give it more dimension.

This is a chair that I painted white then attached some great junk to make it more interesting.  The pan used to be a rusty nasty old white so I painted it blue to contrast with my white chair.

I like the little butterfly, his wings really do flutter in the breeze!

Graceful Garden Tables

What do you get when you take two old cupboard doors, two shutter door, two sets of table legs, and two sewing drawers?  Two prim garden tables of course!!!!   I just love to take stuff that is sitting around my store room and create decorative pieces.   I also took rusty barn stars and attached them to the front for just a little more pizzaz.  Check out the table on the left, the vine cage I bought on clearance for 2.00 and put it on a metal stand I found for cheap, too cool. I am working on a real cool chair for next week and I can't wait to post it to see what you think!
