Reclaimed Dresser

Went to an auction and bought a bunch of stuff......went back and picked the "Free" pile. You know I am not above dumpster diving or free piles!  This dresser was sitting all cute and just begging for someone to love it.  I was missing the top drawer but I didn't let that stop me from stuffing into the back of my Rendezvous!

As you can see in the picture I tipped it over on its side and took my hand held jig saw to it.  I drew a line all the way around the three sides and cut it down leaving it a two drawer dresser.  I then re-attached the top with some glue and screws, all ready to prime and paint.

I decided on using a old looking grayish blue paint I had and then added a Union Jack to the top.

So if ever you see a dresser that is missing a drawer this is one alternative you may consider.

  7. Very impressive. I would never had undertaken such a big project. I also like the Union Jack paint. I guess I need to get some guts and go for that too. I have a perfect chest waiting for one.
