Love my Wellies

I finally found a pair of "Wellies" in my size and just had to buy them.  I had to wrestle them away from my husband, he wanted to turn them into cement boots!!! The very idea.  I originally wanted a pair to wear when I walked the high grass, I have a phobia of snakes and thought the wellies would give me the confidence I needed.  After I got them home I started to think about all the boots I had seen on the net that people decorated so I thought why not, it won't make any difference to the snakes if there is lace on my boots or not.  Then I needed a new centerpiece for Spring at work so I decided to use the boots in a floral arrangement.  I will be changing the flowers again this week so I will get my boots back soon and be able to venture out in the weeds for a walk after supper.  I love the lace and black ribbon they just "Girlie-up" the boots so nicely.

Love Birds

I actually took before pictures of this !!!!!!!!!!! I am so proud of myself.  This was an old television cupboard from the 70's I bought for 5.00 from a thrift store.  I immediately fell in love with it because of the shutter doors. The back was all broken out where they removed the TV  but it didn't matter to me all I could  see was new colors and birds and a pretty new paint job!

I wish I could find ten more of these !

Prim Little Saltbox Bench

I decided it was time to do something with a primitive design.  I used to paint all my stuff primitive and really like the way they fit into a patriotic theme.  This little bench was primed and painted with a black base coat.  Next I painted the legs and edge in barn red.  The design I painted free hand because prim doesn't have to be perfect.   If you would like to see more of my primitive work I have a gallery on Pinterest.  I will be adding to it as time goes on.

Vintage Suitcase Table

I bought a vintage suitcase at a shop last week, I love old suticases wish they came with a record of all the sweet places they have been.  Anyways, I also bought a small bench and decided it would be perfect to mount the suitcase on to make it into a table.  I used six screws and washes and a little glue and it came out really sturdy.   I thought a two tone look is what this called for and went with the egg shell blue with the antique white again to go with all my other creations from this week.

The nice thing about this piece it that it doubles as a small table and a place to put magazines or all the things you don't know where else to stash.

Foot Stool Makeover

I went to a church sale a few weeks ago and found this interesting stool for 2.00.  I walked around the room several times thinking about buying it but wasn't sure. I don't know why I ever doubt myself because once I get something home I always thing of something to do with it.  I don't mean to brag but that is just the way I am.  My mind sees things continually, other people see junk I see a fun project.

You can see the bottom and it even had casters!
As you can see this footstool was very different.  It has a 4 inch foam seat on it covered in tapestry.  The height was way to high to use to rest your feet on comfortably and to unstable to use for a coffee table.  It took me an hour to strip off the fabric and foam but I was really excited because after I did the stool looked like an industrial chic piece.  I decided to leave the bottom stained and paint the top and stencil it.

Now it is suitable to use as a footstool or a little catch all table.

Here is are two random shots of my work area covered in all kinds of things I worked on this last week.  There is a tin ceiling tile, an old calendar frame, in the back a hinged set of shutters, and a table I already primed white along with other good stuff.  I try to take pictures of everything I am working on but sometimes I get so excited about the project that I forget and remember after I have primed the item. I do my best.

Below are the finished projects that are all nicely tucked away in my booth at the Peddler's Market.

This picture is made from two vintage butterflies, the double paneled ceiling tile, and the abandoned calendar frame. It took three things that I didn't have a use for and made a nice wall piece.

This is a table I bought at a thrift store, it needed some repair but overall was in very good condition. I decided to keep most of this weeks painted goods in the same theme color because most people are looking for things to decorate a room and need several items.

This is the hinged shutters and table that I connected together and painted.  I have made several of these types of shelves and they sell very well because they fit into nookd and crannies and hold collectibles or books without taking up a large space.

This is how the stained shelf came out. I added a back piece to it and painted that white.  I ususally don't buy many shelves to paint but this one was made so well and I had the bead board. It always starts with me that I have something I want to use and then just what I need stumbles on my path.

I love the paper/kleenex holders that everyone had in the 90's.  They are still very useful but most just need a new paint job, one that doesn't include hears and geese.
Found this number 4 and had to have it.  I planned to mount is on a found door to use as wall art. Even though the number 4 has no special significance to me, number and letter art is big in the decoration world.

This pair of wear worn Sketchers came from a garage sale that I went to last year.  I paid .50 for them because they looked so comfy and I loved the style.  They were brown and had seen better days but I just had to try to give them a second chance. Good boots are like good friends when you love them you don't care what they look like.

After several coats of spray paint I Modge Podged some lace over the top of them and then used a water proof Modge Podge to finish coat them.
Tom cat really likes them, I tried to snap a picture without him in it but he wouldn't hear of it. I guess he too loves a good pair of boots.
Kitty and Boots, life is good.

Matthew 28:5
The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said

Tea Cup Vignette

This is nothing more than a good illustration of my over active mind, it just keeps going and thinking and then eventually demanding that I paint something. Here I took one wooden candle holder and three tea cups that were just collecting dust in my cupboard.  I sprayed the entire piece pink and pasted yards and yards of pearl trim to the edges. I took some pieces from a lace curtain and made some roses and glued them on too.  The white letter box was an easy spray paint job and the little pink bowl has been sprayed pink and stenciled with the number 5. Easy yet nice to look at.
